On Monday 23rd February 2022, Hosein Abedinpourshotorban, our Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) of JurisTech was invited as a guest speaker by JobQuest.ph to speak about building a future career in JurisTech and cutting-edge tech in the global financial industry.

Here, Hosein shared the formula of success in terms of career. He spoke about how pursuing a career based on passion might not ultimately lead you to success. Your current interest or passion can be a hobby, but not necessarily a career. He mentioned that one should pursue what you are great at and use that to increase your value at work, and that will bring you far in your career. When you are able to realise your value, it will drive you towards success, increasing your passion for it, and giving you greater satisfaction in the things you are working for.

The session then continues with Hosein sharing the latest technology disrupting the financial industry. For example, digital onboarding whereby banks or financial institutions are acquiring and subscribing new users through a fully online platform, without having to go to physical branches. He also spoke about conversational AI referring to technologies, like chatbots or virtual agents, which users can talk to and interact with. Hosein also mentioned new technologies such as AI and Machine Learning (ML) allow the software to become more accurate when making predictions and producing much more valuable business insights. Last but not least, Hosein introduced blockchain as the new and upcoming tech digitising the entire trade finance lifecycle with increased security and efficiency. It can enable more transparent governance, decreased processing times, lower capital requirements, and reduced risks of fraud, human error, and overall risk.

Hosein then wraps up the session with a career tip – Keep up with ongoing change, never stop learning, and use that to leverage your career. He emphasised building a career that aligns with your strength and provides you with new opportunities! JurisTech is on a growth spurt and hungry for a talented resource pool. We are looking for people with skills and personality traits that embody TECH.
