On 20 May 2025, JurisTech engaged a room full of aspiring tech professionals at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) in a dynamic career talk titled “Decode Your Future: Insights into IT Employability Trends.” 

Delivered by Chief Operating Officer Naaman Lee and HR Manager Tneh Khai Chy, the session gave students a forward-looking lens into where the tech industry is headed — and what it truly takes to thrive in it.

The talk kicked off with a visual challenge: identifying real versus AI-generated images. More than just an icebreaker, the exercise underscored the pace at which technology is evolving — and the urgency for future IT professionals to stay ahead of it.

Naaman and Khai Chy then introduced JurisTech and its journey from a homegrown Malaysian start-up to a global leader in enterprise software for the financial sector. They shared the company’s vision of uplifting lives through financial transformation, and a mission grounded in innovation, impact, and a commitment to both client success and employee growth.

The speakers also explained JurisTech’s end-to-end, AI-driven product ecosystem, illustrating how the company supports every stage of the credit lifecycle — from customer onboarding to loan origination, management, collections, and recovery. This integrated approach helps financial institutions streamline operations, accelerate decision-making, and deliver seamless digital experiences.

The conversation then shifted to the kind of talent needed to power such solutions. In discussing IT employability trends, the speakers emphasised the growing demand for graduates who can move beyond siloed roles — not just coders or analysts, but problem-solvers, collaborators, and critical thinkers. With AI accelerating change, adaptability, communication, and ownership are now just as critical as technical skills.

What set the session apart was its practical, outcome-focused tone. IT employability trends were reframed beyond just technical skill sets, with emphasis on the qualities that truly drive success: passion, proactiveness, and perseverance. These, the speakers shared, are what define a “hero” at JurisTech.

Students were also prompted to reflect: What does your ideal company look like? And just as importantly: Would that company hire you today? The speakers offered a perspective that grounded both questions — it wasn’t just about identifying what candidates want from an employer, but also recognising the responsibility to become someone worth hiring by those very standards.

A standout moment was the story of Peter Yee, a proud APU alumnus who began as a Software Engineering Intern and now serves as Software Engineering Associate Manager at JurisTech. His journey — alongside that of Kiarash Razaghiaval, who rose from Software Engineering Intern to Chief Information Officer — served as powerful proof that career growth isn’t theoretical; it’s tangible, and within reach.

Attendees also gained visibility into the range of career paths available — from software engineering to business analysis — and how each role plays a critical part in solving real-world challenges in financial technology.

The session closed with a clear message: JurisTech is hiring, and students were encouraged to explore roles that align with their strengths and aspirations.

For many at APU, the talk offered more than industry insights — it contextualised IT employability trends in ways that were actionable, relevant, and grounded in lived experience. By connecting expectations with real opportunities, the session helped bridge the gap between academic preparation and the demands of the digital workforce.
