On 28 October 2024, JurisTech’s Chief Operating Officer, Naaman Lee, and HR Manager, Tneh Khai Chy, recently addressed a group of 41 students at Asia Pacific University (APU) in an engaging career talk titled “Riding the IT Wave: Essential Employability Trends.”

Naaman kicked off the session by sharing his career journey and breaking the ice with a lighthearted interaction. Introducing the students to JurisTech and iMoney, Naaman explained how JurisTech’s suite of solutions supports all stages of the loan processing cycle, and how iMoney serves as a convenient platform to match consumers with the best financial products.

Highlighting the latest industry trends, Naaman focused on Generative AI (GenAI) and its transformative role in the banking and financial services industry. He then prompted the students to reflect on what they seek in their future workplaces, posing questions about flexible hours, work-life balance, company culture, and opportunities for growth.

On the topic of work-life balance, Naaman offered a nuanced perspective, suggesting that while work-life balance is an admirable goal, “work-life integration” may better describe a fulfilling professional and personal life. As Naaman explained, by aligning our work with our personal values and interests, we can view our work and life as complementary aspects rather than competing ones.

Following Naaman’s talk, JurisTech’s HR Manager, Khai Chy, shared invaluable hiring insights. He introduced the 3Ps—Passion, Perseverance, and Proactiveness—that JurisTech values in its employees. Khai Chy also explained the company’s GECO values: Growing Heroes, Excellence as a Habit, Customer First, and Opening Up.

To emphasise JurisTech’s commitment to nurturing talent, Khai Chy highlighted the inspiring journey of Peter Yee. Peter joined the company as a Software Engineering Intern and, with dedication and hard work, progressed to the role of Software Engineering Associate Manager. His journey embodies the company’s dedication to Growing Heroes, offering a supportive work environment where its employees are nurtured to excel.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, providing the students with an opportunity to engage directly with JurisTech’s industry leaders and receive meaningful advice for their future careers. Tokens of appreciation were then exchanged between the representatives of APU and JurisTech, before closing with a group photo.
