On 22nd August 2024, JurisTech welcomed 21 students from Forward College for an immersive industrial visit. The goal of this visit was to provide the students with insight into JurisTech’s operational dynamics, as well as the professional landscape of the industry. The day started off with a warm reception by our Talent Acquisition Specialist, Vechrani Hai Kiang, and the devoted HR team.

Following that, the students were led on a “Riddle Rally”, which is a gamified office tour. During this activity, the students were guided to form groups and solve riddles together, as they explored JurisTech’s various product units. This engaging activity allowed the students to gain a practical understanding of JurisTech’s solutions, and how they are suited for each step in the lending and recovery process.

After the Riddle Rally, the students enjoyed a refreshing tea break, during which they had the opportunity to mingle with JurisTech’s industry professionals. Following the tea break, each group of students proceeded to present the knowledge they had gained during the Riddle Rally. The students demonstrated an exceptional grasp of JurisTech’s solutions and their practical implications. 

Afterwards, the students engaged in a presentation by JurisTech, starting with a sharing session by our HR Manager, Khai Chy, who provided an informative overview of the culture at JurisTech. Khai Chy discussed JurisTech’s core values, or GECO values, which are Growing Heroes, Making Excellence Happen, Customer First, and Opening Up.

In line with these values, Khai Chy expressed JurisTech’s emphasis on nurturing homegrown talent, and facilitating fulfilling careers in IT. As an inspiring example, he shared about Lucas Looi, who started his journey at JurisTech as a Professional Services Engineer, despite coming from a Geoscience background. After much growth and development, Lucas is now our Head of the Origination for Robust Credit Applications Unit.

The presentation was then continued with a speech by our Chief Operating Officer, Naaman Lee, who gave his encouragement to the students on adapting and thriving in the industry. He particularly emphasised the importance of being proactive in seeking and sharing knowledge, which can be traced back to JurisTech’s first GECO value, which is Growing Heroes.

As the event came to a close, a prize was awarded to the group of students who delivered the best presentation. Tokens of appreciation were also exchanged between Forward College and JurisTech, before concluding with a group photo session.

The industrial visit served as a seminal moment for the students of Forward College to gain invaluable insight into JurisTech’s dynamic professional environment. The visit has not only deepened the students’ learning experience, but also reaffirms JurisTech’s active commitment in fostering and nurturing talent. We eagerly anticipate future collaborations that continue to propel students for fulfilling and successful careers.
